Precision Surveyors is looking for an individual to fill a newly created IT position. A combination of skills will be necessary including hardware, network, server, database and web design.

Precision Surveyors is a professional land surveying firm serving Houston and the surrounding area. Although we provide a wide variety of surveying services, our primary focus is on boundary surveys for residential and commercial real estate transactions. We provide a survey drawing depicting the property lines, location of improvements and relationships of other legal rights affecting the property. Our primary clients are title companies and mortgage companies. The company has been in business for over 20 years and our staff has never been reduced in size due to a downturn in business . We currently have 75+ employees and expect to add approximately 10 new employees over the next few months.

We currently have a 25+ computer network running Windows Advanced Server 2000 on one machine which serves as a file server for the company database. We have a database based on Access 2000 which handles logging and keeping track of orders. We have, as you see, an infant web site. The owner of the company has struggled over the years to build most of these computers, get the server up and running, build the database, experiment with creating web pages and maintenance of all hardware and software.

The successful candidate for this position will take over responsibility for all of the above and  work with the owner on a number of planned expansion and advancements including: building extensive website tying to database providing online ordering and status reports for clients, continued upgrading and expanding of capabilities of database with future migration to SQL server, procuring and setup of hardware and software to create a paperless file system for processing jobs.
